Brand & Identity

A brand identity your team can actually apply

A logo is the smallest part of the job. What matters is the system around it: the rules, the assets and the guidelines that let a distributed team produce consistent work without asking a designer every time.

What an identity programme covers

Everything needed for the brand to work across markets, languages and media.

Strategy before aesthetics

Positioning, audience, competitive landscape and the specific perception you need to shift. Design decisions follow from that, not from a mood board.

Logo and mark system

Primary mark, responsive variants, monochrome versions, favicon and app-icon sizes, and clear rules for minimum size and clear space.

Colour and typography

A palette tested for accessible contrast in both light and dark contexts, and a type system with real hierarchy — not a font pairing screenshot.

Multi-script ready

If you operate in Arabic, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew or CJK markets, the type system covers those scripts properly rather than falling back to a default.

Design system, not a PDF

Components, spacing scale, states and usage rules — delivered as a working system your web and product teams can build against.

Application assets

Templates for presentations, documents, social formats, advertising and print, so the identity survives everyday use.

Why most identity work fails

Companies pay for a brand refresh, receive a beautiful PDF, and six months later the sales deck, the website and the LinkedIn posts all look like they belong to different companies. The identity was never the problem. The absence of a usable system was.

We design for the person who is not a designer

The real test of an identity is whether your sales lead can build a deck at 11pm and have it look right. That means templates, not just rules. Editable files, not just exports. Defaults that are correct.

Consistency across languages

A wordmark that works in English may break in German compounds, fail in Arabic right-to-left layouts, or be unreadable at Japanese text sizes. If you are operating across markets, the identity has to be tested in those markets. We do that as part of the work.

Handover that sticks

Every programme ends with a working session where we walk your marketing and sales teams through the system. The guidelines document is a reference, not the deliverable — the deliverable is a team that can use it.

The identity process

  1. Brand discovery

Stakeholder interviews, competitive audit, audience research and a written positioning statement everyone signs off on before design begins.

  2. Concept directions

Two or three genuinely distinct territories, presented in real applications rather than on a white background.

  3. Refinement

One direction developed to completion across every required format, script and context.

  4. System build

Colour, type, components, spacing, iconography and motion rules assembled into a working design system.

  5. Rollout and training

Asset library, templates, guidelines document and a live handover session with your team.

Frequently asked questions

Can you refresh our brand without starting from zero?

Often that is the right call. If your mark has earned recognition, throwing it away destroys value. An evolution keeps the equity while fixing what is actually broken — usually the system around the logo rather than the logo itself.

Do we own the design files?

Yes. Full commercial rights and editable source files transfer to you on final payment. There are no ongoing licence fees for your own identity.

Can you handle trademark searching?

We run preliminary similarity checks in your primary markets as part of the process and will flag anything concerning. Formal trademark registration should be handled by an IP attorney, and we will work alongside yours.

What if we operate in Arabic or Chinese markets?

Then the identity gets designed and tested in those scripts, not adapted afterwards. That includes right-to-left layout logic, script-appropriate type selection and checking that the mark reads correctly in each context.
