Automotive

The buyer decided weeks ago. The question is whether they found you during

Dealerships, used-car sales, body shops, tyre and service centres, rental, parts. A car is a considered purchase researched over weeks and bought locally, which makes it one of the few categories where patience beats immediacy.

What actually goes wrong

Stale stock is the whole problem. A buyer finds the listing, drives across the city, and the car sold on Tuesday. That is one lost sale and one permanently lost customer, and it happens whenever the website and the stock system are updated by hand.

The second problem is that automotive attribution is genuinely hard. The buyer searches on a phone, researches on a laptop, reads reviews for three weeks, then walks in. Last-click reporting credits the branded search at the end and tells you to cut the spend that actually created the shortlist.

Third, most vehicle pages answer the wrong question. Buyers want to know whether the car is still available, what it costs monthly, and whether they can see it on Saturday. Specification tables do not answer any of those.

How we work in this sector

  1. Connect the stock, do not retype it The website reads the inventory system. Sold cars come down automatically, price changes propagate, and nobody drives across town for a car that is gone.
  2. Write the listing for the decision Availability, monthly cost, condition honestly stated, and a way to book a viewing without a phone call. Vehicle schema so the listing can surface in search directly.
  3. Bid for the shortlist, not the click Campaigns built around a weeks-long consideration window, with make and model searches treated as the high-value queries they are.
  4. Track to the forecourt Server-side tracking and offline conversion import, so a walk-in that started as a paid click three weeks earlier is credited to it.

Attribution in this sector is a modelling exercise, not a measurement one. We will tell you the confidence level of any number we report rather than presenting a modelled figure as a fact.

Whether you sell fifteen cars a month or run a service network, the buyer behaves the same way: long research, local purchase, and a hard stop the moment your listing is wrong.

Frequently asked questions

Our stock changes daily. Can a website keep up?

Yes — by reading your inventory system rather than being edited. Whatever your DMS or stock feed exports, the site consumes it. Manual updating is the thing that breaks, so we remove it.

Google Ads brings clicks but we cannot prove sales.

That is the sector's defining measurement problem, not a failure of your campaigns. Offline conversion import ties a walk-in or a phone call back to the click that started it, weeks earlier. Without it you are optimising against the wrong signal.

Is social media worth it for a dealership?

For used stock, yes — video walkarounds are the single highest-performing format in the category. For service and parts it is far weaker, and the budget usually belongs in local search instead.
